KCC’s Speanburg, Active Duty 17-Year Veteran, Returns from Annual Training

August 10, 2018

nathan_speanburg.jpgKubricky Construction Corp.’s Nathan Speanburg is currently a battalion executive officer, second in the chain of command for a 600-person engineer battalion. Nathan has been deployed with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan (twice), Kosovo, and Honduras. Nathan is currently participating in training in Vermont, where he is an active member of the Vermont Army National Guard.

After seven years of active duty, Nathan joined the Vermont Army National Guard. The National Guard requires weekend drills and an additional 16 to 28 days of annual training. This year, 2018, included 22 days of training and next year will be 28 days.

Vermont’s 86 Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) (Mountain) was chosen to be aligned with the active 10th Mountain Division, and this alignment has added more training requirements for its servicemen and women to be ready to deploy once every five years.

Since his return, Nathan has made the promotion list to lieutenant colonel, and we wish him all the best in both his continuing military career and his career here with Kubricky.
