Scope of Work:
· Installation of 60’+/- long x 40’ +/- wide x 30’+/- deep braced sheet piling cofferdam system.
· Excavation of 5000 +/- CY of material for the new powerhouse, penstock and tailrace.
· Removal of 250 +/- CY of rock for the powerhouse installation.
· Modification and recommissioning of the existing 12’ diameter penstock pipe. This included adding approximately 90’ of penstock, 20’ of transition, draft tube and manhole access points.
· Forming and pouring of 800 CY +/- of concrete for the foundations of the powerhouse structure and mechanical systems.
· Installation of a pre-engineered building which included dewatering / drainage sump system, heating, ventilation and lighting.
· Installation of new turbine / generator water-to-wire package including all electrical components and interconnection with local electrical transmission lines.
· Installation of mechanical support equipment, which included overhead monorail hoist and trolley system, draft tube gate and operator and catwalks and railings.
· Installation of new access road from the dam to the powerhouse.
· Replacement of the old trash racks with new trash racks that meet the updated standards of the NYSDEC.
· All of the aggregates and concrete for the project were supplied from our own quarries and plants.
· All of the existing work took place without interruption of the existing facilities power production.
· All of the work took place adjacent to the environmentally sensitive Hudson River.
· All of the work was performed without any lost time or recordable incidences.
