UALBANY NANOFAB CLEANROOM EXCAVATION, PILINGS AND UTILITIES

Project Objectives:
Perform fast-track subcontract services for M+W Zander in order to construct a cleanroom facility within a 30,000-square footprint.
 
 
 
Scope of Work:
·         Phased excavation of approximately 10,000 cubic yards, up to 12-feet deep.
 
·         Temporary water collection system installed and maintained to collect adjacent building rain water from existing roof drains.
 
·         Furnished and installed over 1,000-feet of storm pipe and drainage structures, as well as a permanent pump station.
 
·         Installation of over 400 auger-cast piles approximately 55-feet in depth were completed in less than one month, with a fixed mast drill rig and crane with flying leads.
 
·         3,000-square feet of concrete and soil-mixed wall was installed where sloping/benching was not possible.
 
·         Eliminated the need for an extensive well point dewatering systems by devising a way to sequence foundation excavation and underdrain installation, thus saving the Owner over $160,000.
