Scope of Work:
- The wooded 7 acre site was cleared and grubbed by the owner prior to Kubricky mobilization to the site. Kubricky site preparation work included 1,500 lf of silt fence and stripping and hauling off-site 7,500 cy of topsoil.
- Earthwork included cuts and fills of 5,600 cy to grade the building site and parking areas to sub grade and to construct two storm water basins. The storm water system included 14 precast catch basins, 14 precast drywells, 1,200 lf of drainage pipe, and an infiltrator chamber system. The precast for this project was supplied by Pallette Stone, a D.A. Collins Company.
- Water main installation included 800 lf of 8” ductile iron pipe and 2 fire hydrants.
- The sanitary sewer included 200 lf of 8” PVC pipe and a precast manhole and the excavation and backfill of all the interior below grade plumbing.
- Excavation and backfill was provided for all underground utilities including electric, telephone and natural gas.
- The building foundation and interior piers included excavation and backfill of 1500 cy and grading for 33,000 sf of slab on grade.
- Associated site work included grading and backfilling for 3,000 lf of slip formed curb and placing and grading sub base for 10,000 sf of sidewalks.
- The parking areas included placing and grading 5,500 cy of sub base, and placing and compacting 2000 ton of asphalt binder and 1,000 ton of asphalt top. All the materials were provided by Jointa Lime, a D.A. Collins Company.
- 1,500 cy of topsoil was screened onsite and placed on all landscape and green areas.
- All of the survey stakeout was completed with GPS, and GPS grade control was used for all earthwork cuts and fills and for the fine grading of the parking areas
- Cost saving ideas passed on to the owner included raising the grade of the site to balance the cuts and fills to eliminate the cost of exporting excess material, and using the existing site material under the slab on grade to eliminate the cost of sub base material .
