Scope of Work:
The project consisted of the installation of a 12 acre landfill cap which included construction of a 10,000 linear foot gas collection system. This system was designed and constructed for the purpose of extracting methane gas, generated as a result of the on-going land-filling operation. · The gas collection system was anchored by the installation of twelve “deep-well” gas collection wells. These wells ranged from 75 to 100 feet deep.
· The project included reshaping the twelve acre area to meet authority’s required grading plan as shown in the solid waste permit.
· Once grading was completed our crew installed approximately one million square feet of Geo-Composite Drainage Net and over 500,000 square feet of 40 mil LLDPE liners.
· Our crews placed over thirty thousand cubic yards of barrier protection material on the landfill membrane.
· Silt Fence, Hay bales and diversion dikes were installed as part of the project. These controls had to be inspected daily.
· All work was completed in strict adherence to the facility’s storm water management plan.
· Great care and planning were required during the entire project to insure the construction activities did not interfere with the ongoing landfill operations. |
